Tower

The example presents the way how to take advantage of Open Standard (RobotOS) for bar structure definition by means of a macro in the MS Excel® spreadsheet.

The task of the macro is to generate a simplified geometrical model of a tower (and of masts with triangular sections as well). This structure is parametrized by means of three quantities (number of levels, total height and base width), the values of which may be entered into the appropriate spreadsheet cells.

Available since version 13.0 of the ROBOT program.

How to activate the example?

  1. Run the ROBOT program selecting the Frame 3D (three-dimensional) Design module on the vignette
  2. In the MS Excel® program open the Tower.xls document and switch on the macro support
  3. Set the tower parameters in the spreadsheet
  4. Press the “Generate” button
  5. Check the generation effect in the ROBOT program (the best way is to switch on the 3D view or one of the available 3D projections (deep) onto a plane for a structure)

The steps 3 – 5 may be repeated for different parameter values that will result in updating the generated structure geometry.
