Multi-segment Shelter
The example presents the way of using Open Standard (RobotOS) to define a bar structure by means of a macro in the MS Excel sheet®. The aim of the aim of the macro is to generate a geometrical scheme of a 6- or 8- segment shelter. The structure is parametrized with characteristic dimensions: number of segments, columns heights, the distance between columns etc. The value of the above parameters may be defined in the appropriate sheet cells. The user has also the possibility of defining the profile type and defining the value of the uniform load applied to the roof element.
Available from the version 14.0 of ROBOT program.
How to activate the example?
- Start ROBOT program in the 3D frame definition mode
- Open the Polygone.xls document in the MS Excel® and activate the macros.
- Set structure parameters in the sheet.
- Push the „Generate” button.
- Check the results of generation in ROBOT program (the best thing is to start the 3D view).
Steps 3 - 5 may be repeated with different parameters values which would result in the update of the generated structure parameters.
